Hi, I have a 2006 IS350 with 142,000 miles on it. All this time I have done maintenance myself on the car and I completely forgot to replace the PCV valve since the car is new. I took a look under the hood and it looks like it's on the driver side, top rear of the engine. Has anyone replaced it yet? Trying to prevent any unnecessary break downs / repairs.

I as well would be curious about the PVC, as it is normally a common faulty part after many miles on MANY cars. Usually if you can remove the PVC and can shake it and can hear it rattle...it is good. If you hear nothing, time for a replacment. Just a general rule of thumb I guess.

Correct, but if I'm going to remove it for around 7 bucks I'm going to replace it. I know you can also use brake cleaner to clean it out, but rather replace for next to nothing in cost.

You sure our cars have a pcv valve, I know alot of cars no longer use them.

Part #12204 would appear to be the PCV valve in Sewell's schematic. I am at about 90k and haven't changed mine. May order one myself....

The PCV valve is located on the top rear of the driver side valve cover.

^Easy to access once the engine cover is removed? I just might go ahead and replace mine since its a '06 and the previous owner babied this thing.

The PCV valve is located to the left of the brake reservoir. It's the one with the pink outline. Kind of a tight spot for a wrench.

Hard coming from a nice, tucked engine bay in a '92 Civic HB to a FULL engine bay in this Lex! LOL!

Anyone have any idea how many lbs of torque or just until I think it's tight?

Funny how the engine bay in the IS still has more room than my DA. In days past I had to pull the driver side axel and intermidate shaft to replace the alternator. Now with the B18C and Skunk 2 intake manifold I can pull it out from the top.

No clue, but since it is a threaded part I'd give it a good 1/8 turn after tight.
