2006 IS getting RUST :(
Noticed a little spot starting on front wheel well where the bumper edge meets the quarter panel.
Anyone else experience any rusting yet?
I have GFM, I dont believe its easily repainted if I went through the whole process of stripping it, filling it, and repainting the spot. It's not too visible yet, do I bother trying to remove it or just have it sprayed to slow it down and hope I can get 5+ years without a terrible looking patch of rust showing?

If it's just a spot of surface rust, you can try getting rid of it by clay-barring it. Try just a few passes, and if it doesn't work then you'll have to get it fixed properly.
If it does work, you might as well get the entire car detailed, waxed, and sealed professionally. And then get your undercarriage cleaned and coated with a rust inhibitor before the next winter.

When you say something was modified, can you be more specific as to what may cause this?

A new fender, if that's all it is should be less than 600$ installed since you can get these fenders for reasonable money all day long and some time at a paint shop.
Someone must've hit it, or you hit a big rock and it started to rust, since this is very uncommon. There's still '01 IS300's buzzing around my city being driven yearly with no rust and we get a ton of snow/salt - you name it.

I'm totally out of ideas on what started this. Like I said, its manageable at the moment. But like someone said, I dont want to pay more than I have to. The area is clean (no signs of any damage).
My only guess is I've done something near that edge that would cause rust when I put in HID Fogs last fall...Went between the fender liner. But again, I highly doubt that.
