GFX kit install price?
Hey Guys -
I got a quote from my Lexus dealer this morning to have the whole kit installed (split design lip, sideskirts, rear lip) and they quoted me FIVE hours of labor @ $516.00. Seems a little absurd so I wanted to check to see who has had it professionally installed and what it ran you?
Thanks!
Marko

These prices are relative to the area and the amount of aftermarket options or dealer options that each dealer does. I would think that there is not a huge demand for this type of work being done in Utah which easily could raise the price. Here in Pittsburgh, PA there is little to no aftermarket support for these types of vehicles. Our Lexus dealer does no aftermarket stuff so there pricing is extremely high as well.

The dealer would be able to complete that install in much less than 5 hours. I'm told the sides are really easy to do, and the front wasn't bad at all. The rear took me a little longer, but still shouldn't be charging $500 for the combo. I say do it yourself. The instructions that come with the kits make it very easy to do. It isn't as hard as it may seem, just take your time.

For something so simple, you shouldn't waste your time and money at the dealership.
The front and sides are easy and take little time. Where as the rear takes a little more time.
This project can be completed your one person in less than 2 hrs. Even shorter time if you have someone helping you. Try to find a local member to help out with the instal. Good luck.

i love the people that are saying DIY, but I simply don't have a ton of time to dedicate and i'm a bit of a perfectionist. Cutting the bumper would just about put me over the edge

You have to remember that the instructions are quite clear on what you are supposed to do, and that there are marks inside your factory bumper covers which show you exactly where to make your marks for drilling. I was a little uneasy when doing the front for the first time but it really is simple. Wife about fainted when she came into the garage and I had a half dozen holes drilled in the front end too! Lol. It will work out, and being a perfectionist only works to your advantage when doing a project like this. Coming from someone that is admittedly OCD......
