I've been using 5w30 syntec in my ls400 for almost the last 100,000 miles. I'm at 255,000 now and still going strong From this experience I recently switched my is350 over to syntec as well. I guess time will only tell wether it will be as effective in the is.

yeah running sythetic is fine man, no need to worry at all. i run Eneos in both my cars and all the previous cars changing at 5k miles and havent had an issue yet. in my IS im gonna step up to 7K change intervals though
