Default IS 250 Owners With Over a 100,000 Miles

How is your IS running? Are you still doing the regular maintenance on it?

I am asking because I had a 2000 Camry and when I retired it, it had 240,000 miles on it. I kept it serviced at the dealer for the entire time I owned the vehicle. Now, I am thinking about driving my 2009 IS 250 up to 250,000 miles before I retire it and buy a newer Lexus.

Seeing as how Lexus is a luxury Toyota vehicle, you will see very similar if not better lifespan in Lexus cars. I know a member on ClubLexus reached 250,000 on his 2IS. I, myself, am currently sitting at 134,000 and still running strong. No problems, just regular maintenance. This car is simply amazing, and before my 2IS I had a 3GS and I was at 235,000. So these cars are definitely capable of it. Only a rare few see problems and most problems arise from carbon buildup which is now kind of accounted for by Lexus cause they are doing recalls. You need an extreme case of carbon buildup in order to replace the pistons but they are beginning to learn more about it.

My car is has that misfire problem. But after the dealer rebuilds my engine, I should be able to drive my car easily to 250,000 miles as well or at least I am hoping. Even at almost 70,000 miles, my car, with the misfire problem, still runs like brand new.

Cool, I am like you, I try to keep everything clean, nice, and looking good in my car. I hate when I see someone driving a raggedy luxury car, with dents, dings, chipped paint, and engine sounding like it's on its last leg.

Luxury cars usually have shorter lifespans due to the extra gizmos and higher replacement part costs.

Interesting that I saw this thread today. I have been thinking about posting something like it.

I have never kept a car for more than 4 years. However, I am not at 4yrs 1mo on my IS and I have decided I am going to keep it until it dies. I would like to get at least 200k out of it.

2010 IS 250 AWD purchased new in 2010. 112k miles. All scheduled maintenance items (not stupid "check this and that") done at Lexus dealer.

Only issue I have had are the rear axles replaced at 76k miles. Lexus covered the parts, I paid the labor. VERY EXPENSIVE.

I hope to have no major expenses for 200k...

What in the hell could I do with an IS with 200k miles on it? It's a work-car....all freeway...the inside looks as new as it did the day it was bought. Seriously, the guy who waxed/detailed my exterior a few months ago asked how my car looks so new on the inside with over 100k miles. I don't eat or drink in the car...and I don't have kids banging up the seats and ****. Who would even buy a car with 200k miles?????

I drive both my IS250 and IS350 hard everyday, and even push all the way to the limit in autocross many times. They only went through many sets of tires and brake pads, oil change, brake fluid flush, rear differential oil change etc as regular maintenance. Nothing has broken down yet. My IS350 2006 soon will reach 100k but still run fine like the first day.
