Question car making 6 beeps instead of 2 when unlocking.

Whenever I unlock the door by reaching for the handle it sometimes beep 6 times and sometimes it beeps 2 times like normal. I changed out the key fob battery about 2months ago when it came up on my dash. I brought my car in for service and Lexus said my car battery was bad so I thought that was the problem. I just replaced the car battery today and the car still beeps 6 times when I unlock the car.

Anyone know of this problem?

The door lock actuator could be bad. Check to see if all doors are lockin unlocking with the fob. My rear door locks have be opened manually hence the beeping

Happened to me when i got my windows tinted. One of the locks was jammed, when the shop put back the panels. Check to see if one of the door locks isnt functioning.

Try unplugging all your door switches. Just pry out the panel and unplug them. Wait like a few minutes and plug them back in again. Mine was beeping more than twice when I unlock and I just recently reapplied new vinyl wraps and it stopped doing that when I unplugged and plugged the switches in.

Funny happened to me a few days ago. What I did was open the door and hit unlock on the remote. Then close the door, use the remote to lock it, walk away, and reach the door handle to unlock it. It should function normally again. If the first try wasn't successful, try again.

I was able to mimic it yesterday because I was curious on why it happened. There is also a silent mode with no beep when remote locking.

My car did the same. I pulled the negative terminal to reset everything. Went away and hasn't come back yet

I kinda figured out what’s this problem is all about, if you live in an extremely cold weather areas when the temperature drops below 15-20 C, or in an extremely hot weather areas, the door actuators tend to fail or have hard time to unlock, if you can go closer from the locked door and sensed the motor making sound and trying to unlock the door, then that means it’s working perfectly but facing resistance from inside. Air and humidity can easily enter and cause this issue, especially if you had your door panel opened recently (and/or) your doors windows replaced but the thermal insulation was not installed correctly. Try to reset your doors key lock system while you’re sitting inside the car and holding the key close from the key lock sensor light on the dashboard. Hold unlock button for 5 seconds then lock button for 5 seconds the system should reset the doors and the windows motors to roll faster and more efficiently. Try this multiple times, turn off the car the turn it on and drive, program the car system to unlock when you switch on parking, then try to switch the parking gear to neutral and vice versa, these things should solve the issue. The max you can do is trying to press hard on the lock from inside the car to unlock it and it should somehow work as well. By the way this is one of many other issues can happen to your car during extreme temperatures, for instance, your blind spot sensors can simply fail when the temperature falls below-15c and all you have to do is to drive for quite 10 minutes until the car temperature goes up then turn off the car and turn it on again. Another issue happens due to washing your car when it’s -15 or -20c, the moon roof won’t be able to slide back and the motor will face resistance, that can also be solved by resetting the moon roof system and pressing on open tilt up button continuously to enter the calibration mode. In addition, you’ll have to use the right lubricants on the back lip or edge of the moon roof to make sure it closes softly and don’t face resistance.
