IS250 at Streets of Willow
Update (03/11/13): Post 32
I took my IS250 to the Streets of Willow Track. The guys at Extreme Speed hosted the event and did a great job. This was my second time at a HPDE, my second time at this track, but first time running it clockwise.
The instructor did a few hot laps in my car to show me what it could do and posted a 1:44:025 lap. By the end of the day, my fastest lap was 1:43:014. The car handled well and has a good feel. Need to work on my skill more to get smoother
I had a great time, but need to replace the heim joints in my Figs Toe Links. When I got my car corner balanced Darin commented that they were getting worn. The last 2 sessions I could feel something was loose in the rear, as sometimes in turns it would shift slightly and then settle.
For a track this size (1.8 mi), BBK was not needed. Some turns I had ABS kick in with my stock 250 brake calipers, oem blank rotors, and EBC Red brake pads.
Here are a few pictures my buddy snapped, as well as video from my last session.
The purple e36 M3 was driven by my buddy and coworker.
Can't wait until the next time.

Each class had 5 sessions, each ~20 minutes.
In the SoCal subforum, there was a thread with discount it was $95 for the day with basic instruction and timing.
They actually have another event coming up in February on the big track at Willow Springs, and I'm planning on going in March to Buttonwillow with same group of friends.
After having tracked my car once, I realized it will never be in its original immaculate state again. But eff it, it's become my fun project car now haha.

That's awesome that you actually track your car. I'm just curious as to what you mean by that last statement? Are you saying the track tore up your car pretty bad? Because of rock chips/ debris? I would like to take my car to the track at least once but fear that it could get pretty beat up cosmetically.
