Default So I am getting new tires for the front, the

owner's manual says I need new tire pressure warning valves and transmitters. I am buying tires at Sam's Club and the guys there did not mention anything (I assume they don't know). Using logic, I think I can reuse the same valves and transmitters, I don't see the need for new ones. What's your opinion? Thanks in advance.

BTW, I don't know how to search this forum. I searched on valves but got all kinds of responses from all kinds of Lexus models. How do I search IS only?

When getting new tires, it is a good idea to put in new internals within the valve stem. I think the term is a "rebuild", but not sure. But what I am sure about is you do NOT need to get new TPMS units themselves.

Check your invoice for a "tpms maintence kit" service or just ask them. I just had all 4 of my tires replaced and they had to "rebuild" them. It was like an $8 charge all together. Maybe someone who knows the reason why it has to be rebuilt can chime in

All the "REBUILD" kit is the "O" ring that seats to the inner rim! Most TPMS transmitters will last usually from 7-10 years and a true rebuild should include a new valve. Lex/Toy tpms stems are metal not rubber so don't get fooled into buying something you don't need

So what you're saying is...our TPMS stems DON'T have to be "rebuilt" but since they did, they are now rubber?
