Default Low oil light flashed!!!

06 is250 rwd is at 42000 miles.

So I was driving home last night when the low oil light briefly flash, I quickly pulled over the the closest petrol station, turn it off n checked the dip stick to see how much oil was left, and to my shock there was minimal oil !!!

I manage to get some oil at the petrol station and filled it up, but is there any known reasons why it might be low? I checked underneath the car to see if there are any leaks but there was nothing, nothing on the garage floor nor the exhaust tips.

It is a due for an oil change, so guess I'll be doing that over the weekend....

Going to be changing the spark plugs and running through some seafoam as well, anyone know which vac hose to use? and I guess i should do it before the oil change? lol

Thanks for the help =)

Have you taken off the underbody plastic panels to see if they have oil sitting in them?

either you are

A) Burning oil

or

B) Got under filled during the last service.

Do you drive aggressively? As in flooring it when accelerating?

You must have an is250. If my assumption is correct then there is a tsb out that cures the oil consumption.

first time i've heard of this tsb or this issue being widespread enough to warrant a tsb on said issue for that matter.

theres a TSIB for pistons.. the rings are causing lots of oil to get through the rings into the combustion chamber and causing misfire codes and also causes oil consumption.. very common.. most is250 are doing it.. go to the dealer its warranteed. message me if you need help.

You should know that when the engine running (or just turn off) Some oil still on the head of the car so dipstick is not correct at that time. The only good and accurate way to check oil level via dipstick is when the engine cool

Now you should recheck your oil level again especially in the morning. Someone correct me if i were wrong

Oil level indicator light flashing could be a sign of oil bump failure.

well my light flashes constantly every 2k. i bought it used and the place i bought it said there was a post about the burning. the fix was to put some oil additive in that will loosen something up. still hasnt worked.

are the used cars covered by lexus or did i have to buy it new?

I don't think it maters how many owners the vehicle has had. I think the car is covers regardless.
