LOL that article is wrong in so many ways

The IS platform is based upon the GS platform, to my knowledge there is no US toyota equivalent product based upon the GS platform. The ES is based upon the camry platform.

other things that article has wrong:
Wheel and tire upgrade package transforms handling from ho-hum to almost exciting...what upgrades? I don't remember the 2011 getting any special wheels

To silence unwanted noise, sheets of asphalt line the roof and floor pan...WTF?

To update the roadside presence of the IS, Lexus has fitted the 2011 version with projector bulb headlamps...this has been done for all IS. The only difference now is that it gets the LED swoosh

It is true that the IS is based on TOYOTA Prius.... No, I am kidding. Our car is based on Toyota MarkX which is Japanese Domestic Model.

It shares no platform with the Camry, Corolla or any other Toyota sold in North America.

As far as I am aware, the earliest similar chassis is the Crown GRS180 in Japan, which started production in December, 2003. The GRX120 didn't start production until 11 months later, with the Lexus GS/IS models starting production another 9 months or so after that in late 2005.

Does it really matter what platform the IS is based on? Is that really going to ruin anyones ownership experience?
