What's the Best Police Radar Detector?
As the title says, I'm looking to get a police radar detector and there's so many out there so I'm wondering which one you guys think is the best?
Way too many cops following me around my area... Haha

Do you just want a competent one or do you actually want the "best" one?
Escort 9500 and Valentine V1 are competent radar detectors that provide great value, but strictly speaking they aren't the best.
The best radar detector is by far the Beltronics sti-R plus, and as expected, you have to be willing to pony up the $ for a top of the line radar detector like this. It'll run you about $1400-$1500, IIRC, whereas the Escort 9500 series/Valentine V1 are "budget" radar detectors that provide solid value for a fraction of the cost.

A reasonable question to ask is - "How do you know this beltronics sti-r plus is the best radar detector? Are you just saying that because it's the most expensive?"
Great question. No - I'm not saying that because it's the most expensive. Radar detectors aficionados have a strong contingent on the internet. There are entire forums dedicated to extensively testing radar detectors to see what works best.
I mean, these aren't exhaustive experiments with scientific precision or anything, but they're the best we have.
And, the general consensus on these forums is that the Beltronics Sti-R plus is by far the best radar detector out there. It also happens to be the most expensive one, although this shouldn't come as a surprise.

Escort 9500ix is by far the best radar out there..even a cop told me he hate us speedsters that have it, because they never catch us....everytime they update there systems the radar send out an update following...Escort users are 2 steps ahead of them lol...I have had it 3 years now and love it.

I have a Bel-STi hardwired in my car, it's actually a pretty sick setup and works better than most of my V1s. And it's also undetectable.

It seems like the valentine v1 and the escort are the most popular which is kind of what i thought. I know that these don't account for cops using laser guns so do you guys pair these with any laser jammers or are there not many cops with laser?
