Default Extended warranty pricing..

I had 68k miles on my IS250 AWD. I just got a letter from my Dealer telling me I can buy a 3 yr 36000mie extended warranty. Has anyone purchased one that late in the game and what did you pay?

I need to call them to find out what they want and will also call Sewell to price match before I buy. If I do buy, I will buy Sewell since they do so much for us here.

But again, if anyone has purchased, what did you pay. If you do not want it public, PM me.

Thanks.

There are a couple dealerships that sell the warranties cheap over the phone. Someone should be able to post the links or you might be able to find them by searching. As long as you are still under the factory warranty, you can buy it from those dealers over the phone. Not sure if they have a powertrain only option though since you are already past the regular warranty. Is the extended warranty they are offering you powertrain only..?

There is a thread somewhere with all the contact info for a few places that sell the toyota/lexus warranties at prices way lower than what you local dealership is most likely offering it to you for. If you do a search for "extended warranty" it should come up.

this is what I am surprised at. Mine is a 2007 with 68k miles and well out of warranty. If I do buy it, then I will keep the car. I am debating trading out next month but also parts of me wants to keep it.

Is it a Lexus dealer that is offering you the warranty or just a used car dealer?

Don't quote me on this, but if you are out of warranty, I really don't think you can get the OEM warranty.

Maybe third party warranty, but that is even questionable..

I was told if I was over factory warranty I couldn't purchase the vehicle service agreement. This is most likely a third party company.

Default Extended warranty on '07 RX

I got an extended warranty from a Lexus dealer in Shreveport, Louisiana a few years ago at a great price. $1600 for 8 year- 75k miles.,,just sold the car with 49k miles and returned the warranty to Lexus for a prorated refund. Don't know how much it will be..The Lexus dealer in CA. processed the paperwork for me as part of the purchase.

Hope it helps, Joe

like others said, make sure its an actual lexus dealer... I didnt think you were eligible for the extended warranty if you were already over 50k miles.

I would not buy a third party warranty ... too many hassles and they go in and out of business quickly. If you can't get a VSA from Lexus which is only available before the expiration of the 4 yr/48,000 mi factory warranty just pass on any further warranty coverage.

The only warranty that would be available would be a powertrain only warranty, since you are still under the Lexus powertrain warranty with a 2007 w/68k miles. There's one warranty on the Lexus site that is 6yr/100k on the powertrain only, but I think that has to be bought at time of purchase.

I'm thinking of getting a route 66 warranty with one I just purchased. Have you used it yet? How do you like it?
