Exclamation Humming noise around rear/fuel area

I just had this humming noise recently and its driving me nuts. The sound can be heard when the engine is running, during driving or stationary and sounds like its coming from the rear seat/fuel tank area. The hum/buzz then produce a sound "zzzzztttt" for 1-2 seconds after turning off the engine.

Any idea what might be the problem? Bad fuel pump?

My guess was static/interference coming from the rear speaker, but then the "zzzzztttt" threw me off. haha

Turn off your rear speakers and see if you can pin point where it's coming from. Normally speaker interference can still be heard when the speakers are turned "off".

Definitely not static from the speakers, the sound is more 'mechanical' like a a soft vacuum than an electrical noise. Thanks though.

To me it sounds like a fuel pump issue. My 06IS250 did that sporadically before I traded it in. Same symptoms.
