My wheels won't fit over front calipers. I do not want spacers. what kind of shop would take my wheels to have them notch out a couple mm where it hits the caliper? or is there a tool i can rent, and do it myself? thanks

I'm going to agree a 5 mm spacer is way safer.

But its your decision to not use spacer, so instead you should probably shave a little off the caliper. Our front calipers are pretty thick in the front, a few mm off won't do anything.

Shaving the wheel might actually make it weaker, and in addition, shaving the calipers is A LOT easier.

i've seen it done before on some volks, I really doubt it makes the wheel any weaker. I'm talking about a 3mm notch about 1/4" long. I believe he used an angle grinder.

Depending how much we're talking about here, it may be more reasonable to shave the caliper than the wheel.

something is not right here..
are you talking about the outer circumference of the wheels or the hub area where the lugs are?
because if they dont clear the calipers even when you shave a few mm they still going to rub.

if you are shaving the outer rim then yes that will weaken the structure of the wheels

There is nothing wrong with running a 3mm or 5mm spacer. You wont even notice it.

I'm with myis350g shave off mm from the hub won't help you. Shaving the face of a 3 piece rim that a no no. Instead of making all these same thread either run a spacer or sell its that simple. You ask this question like 100 time already and yet to get the concept.

i wouldn't be worried about shaving a wheel and making it weaker but you will throw off the balance of the wheels and how true the rim really is. you will def have to go rebalance your wheels.

Gonna be kinda hard to sell the wheels late or too. I would never buy wheels that someone shaved for break clearance lol..
