Early this morning my front right tire popped on the way to work. I just received a call and was told the front right tire will cost $300 dollars. That seems a bit high. My car is a 2011 f sport and has the stock tires from when I purchased.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

tirerack is a sponsor here, and they could get you equivalent replacement for a lot cheaper. The factory OEM is actually not that great of a tire, and prone to early wear.

Sounds high but, in any event, I would be cautious of having one out of the four tires differing in manufacturer and model number just to save a few buckeroos.

He would have to replace the pair anyways, as 2 year's worth of wear on the other side would affect high speed tracking on the highway if he just replaced one. He is better off buying 2 new tires from Tirerack for the same price as one crappy tire from the dealer.

The model I have on my car now is Dunlop sport model 2050. Does that make a difference? I only have 17,000 miles on the car and tires.

Americas Tire Co will dismount and mount/balance a new 18" tire onto a wheel for $20. Either provide them a tire to replace the bad one or purchase one from them; they will hook you up!

LOL. thats ridiculous. should be TOPS 250, for new tire, balance, mount. i mean.. at least thats what it cost my shop last time someone brought in their fsport.

I just bought 4 tires from tirerack 20'' for $680 shipped and it cost me $100 mount and balance. Hankook v12's BTW

Yeah I bought a set of Hankook V12's over the summer and it was about $500 or so after the rebate.

Try discount tire direct on eBay...get a protection plan it'll save you in the long run, especially on the front because they take most of the damage or will catch the nail before the rear does...

Check classifieds section or Craigslist, even some tire shops, you might find 2 new tires for under $400.

Switch your front two to Hankook Ventus V12 and then when the rears are ready to be changed do the same, the Dunlops are the cheaper of the two OEM applications with the bridgestones being the "better" option. If money is not an issue Michellin Pilot Sports or Super Sports are awesome.

Never get your tires at the dealership....they dont make the tires and there is no magic to mounting them even if you went to a firestone it would be cheaper. Also at firestone they sell lifetime allignment, I always pick that up on my new cars its around $150 in my area....well worth it IMO.

Discounttiredirect has Hankook V12 for $121 each with $80 mail-in rebate for 1 set purchase. They also offer free shipping. If I don't get Bridgestone 760 sport, I would get V12.
