Default Auto leveling headlights not calibrating at start up

2009 IS250 with factory HID lowered on tanabe NF210. The rear AFS adjuster has been move lower to compensate for the drop. There is no headlight leveling calibration upon start up...that is the lights no longer move up and down when the car is started.

There is no AFS light flashing during driving.

I searched without any good results. Any suggestions very much appreciated.

It's not supposed to automatically calibrate. You can do it yourself. There is a thread around here that shows you how to adjust the headlight aim. I hear you can also ask the dealership to do it for you too.

Do you mean the light doesn't move up and down anymore when you start the car up with the headlights on?

Exactly. I suppose I should reword it.

When I start the car, the headlights no longer move up and down.

My 2008 IS350 did it everytime I started the car...it didn't matter how level the ground was.

Alsoo, the passenger side is aimed way higher than the driver side as well.

You can easily adjust the aim of the headlights. There's a thread on here that shows you how to do it with a Phillips screwdriver.

let me get this straight... u were able to calibrate the afs in the rear to compensate for the drop but dont know how to adjust the headlight beam in the front?

this is what u need to do... move the afs sensor back to its original position... get a phillips screw driver and adjust the headlights in the front. done.

You can manually adjust each headlight individually.

I think what op is talking about is how the afs headlights first moves up and down upon, then straight startup. My car did this the since day one. It's supposed to move every time. Not all ISx50s have afs. I think u need factory hids and or luxury package.

Checked AFS fuse under driver side dash. It's fine.

Any other ideas? I may just re-aim them and see what happens.

So I manually adjusted them at 25' on a level floor and they suddenly started working again...cool. Now I got the perfect horizontal cut off! Previous owner must have had them way out of aim and the AFS didn't like it.

Sweet! I'm glad I didn't have to buy sensors or headlights!
