Someone on the board already bought them on amazon and they were fakes also. Cant find the post but he sent them back and got his money. I dont think Amazon sometimes realizes what they sell.

The Ultinon 5000K does looks like a yellowish white. If you are expecting white with a little bit of yellow, then this would not be the one you want and rather go with the 6000K option.

I guess I'm headed toward 5k somewhere. Thanks for the advice, I'll prob just put the stock ones back in for now!
Have you even tried the genuine Ultinon 6000K? I was pretty happy when I had mine over the stock bulbs and were bright enough. Lumens compared to the other brands of 6000K out there.

I'm fine with that. Not looking for even a hint of blue in my headlights. (Blue means less light output).

The Ultinon 6000K should be fine because it doesn't have a hint of blue. It's more of a ghost white.

Also consider the actual kelvin 's of this bulb is around 5800K for the 6000K.

I posted this on a reply on the GS thread, but since I don't actually own a GS but an IS figured I post here too and get some more opinion.

I just received one from eBay, but I did not pay $100, it was close to the full price. Before I try these on, can anyone help confirm I have the real deal and not a fake? I'm a bit paranoid with the insulator tube not being pearly blue, tell me I did not drop $250 for a fake!?!!

Gladly, but I'm at work right now. But if you look at the first page and third photo posted by sango, the box looks exactly like the one on the right. Also I got a reply from the seller stating that they do not sell counterfeits, unlike d1, d2 bulbs d4 being mercury free do not have red salt?

Yup - they are real?

What did you pay for them if you don't mind me asking?

Just curious, as we are selling them for $232.22 shipped (Using the current spring promo code listed on the site):

I paid $248 shipped, I think it's even lower now on their main site HIDConcept. XenonDepot was my first choice though just wish you guys are closer. I'll keep you guys in mind next time, thanks for your help.

Here's what the box looks like..

I have them installed now, surprisingly they look yellower than the stock. It's the same way when I installed the Morimoto 5k, it wasn't until a week later they started to change. Hopefully the Ultinon will look better once they break in.

My 6000k took about a week or two to break in. The light is pure white

Yeah that's what confused me also, maybe the comparison was made with a non d4 bulb? My morimotor was xb35 which had red salt, a buddy of mine just got the morimotor xengreen (mercury free) which had no red salt both are D4s

So by reading all these and a lot of other threads are we still considering the XD 5000k best if you want crisp white output (with no yellow) and garax 6k if you want a white with a hint of blue as the leading brands - not counting philips 6k because of the cost. Or has another brand pop up to take over the market for D4S bulbs. I want great visibility and a while with maybe a hint of blue. Please LMK
