Default How can I get rid of my bad exhaust drone?

My current exhaust is simply the cats and Magnaflow glasspacks. The drone or just noise inside the cabin is just starting to irritate me. It's literally loud during cruising and accelerating and it's throughout 1K to 4K RPM. The stock resonator and secondary cats were removed and I also had quad tips installed.

I'm looking into ways to reduce the drone and I found a few but clueless if they work or not. I read about side-branching resonators, exhaust tip silencers, and mufflers like the Corsa Drone Buster or Dynomax VT but there's not sufficient space to fit them properly.

What's the best way to reduce the drone? Oh and I want to keep the car loud but just not the inside loud.

My friend has a very loud exhaust and when he put's on the silencers, it makes a big difference.
It reduces the sound outside by a tad bit but inside drone was probably down by 80%.

I have the same problem with stock resonator and m2. M2 are known for drone below 3k. I'd like to know too how to get rid of drone. Have the exhaust for less than a week but it's irritating me too.

Surprisingly, my exhaust almost has no rasp at all. It's just a deep tone throughout.

You probably have seen. Posted pictures before when I had it done months ago lol.

I don't think there's much you can do if you have the stock resonator still on. Someone I know has the M2 and his cabin was extremely quiet compared to mine. I can only wish to get it like that.

Glass packs are known to be loud and are probably causing a lot of the inside drone. I'd remove them. Or you can do what I did and add 2000Watts of stereo power!

Lol, I would be deaf with the loud exhaust and music together.

But before I just had straight-pipes. That was too loud to the point I couldn't pass 3K RPM or people would start giving me looks. So I put on some glasspacks and that made the exhaust quieter outside and much quieter inside. Now I'm just wanting even more quiet. Having to drive about 50 miles everyday, it gives me a headache listening to like 2 hours of drone.

Nice! That would solve it!

I'm interested in what resolves this as well....other than going back to an OEM exhaust setup.

Glasspacks? How do you use those? What size or where should I get one for m2?

The addition of the Cats/resonator should eliminate the drone.

Sorry dude for the question... I never heard about glasspacks. I won't ask about it if I know about it. I google it and did not find any information on how it works and installed. I'm not an expert like you. I did ask my friends that knows a lot more than I do about what I could do about the drone but no solution. I don't think everybody here in CL is an expert and knows about it like you.

There's a thread somewhere here about this
Using branched resonators
