yeah you are correct about the warranty, they make it seem like the best but when it comes to covering **** they never want to and I'll def. let you know and call the compny and ask them how much space is behind the box, most likely enough for the amp to be mounte to back of the sub. Now I'm shopping around for a sub that will put out enough bass for my taste without the JL W7 price haha

dude if you didnt live so damn far id do all that for 900 lol. it really depends on quality, if there top notch id say pay for it. if its just middle range work that most any shop can do i would either beat him up on pricing or take it els where.

well i take that back, i just did the actual math and not my head guessing. 1125 is what they quoted you for equipment. even tho they make a pretty decent margin out of that, 175 for instal fees is not too bad.

Actually ended up getting the sub for $166 and I'll never own a sony amp!!! The amp was $400 I got for $367 from rockford fosgate. I'm really leaning to get this ebay box which is half price of what the shop is charging me for a custom one. Amp install kit im getting is the rockford fosgate 4 gauge kit so I'm not too worried about that. I am going to have another talk with him on friday for sure.

Do you have to run a LC2i - Audiocontrol 2-channel line output or type when hooking up a sub and amp for everything to work right??

They are wired to the trunk light so when it's opened they turn on. There's also a hidden button that switches it to flash with the bass while music is playing. Thanks for the compliment.

yes.. for the third time in this thread... you NEED some kind of line out converter or sound processor for the rca's to get signal from.

This is not an entirely true statement. There are a good amount of amps that have high level inputs which would negate the need for an LOC.

Although, if you're going to do this.. do it right and get an LC2i for better sound processing.

Not only that, cheaper, un-powered LOCs can give unwanted noise and weird pops/hisses/crappy sound output..
