Suspension crapping out covered by warranty? (Using aftermarket springs)
Hello guys.
So let me start off by saying Ive got extended lexus platinum warranty (bumper to bumper) for another 4 years.
I am planning to put my H&R springs on my IS350 to lower it, however, my stock shocks already have almost 50k miles on them, so I am scared that they will crap out soon enough if i put the springs.
Now here is 3 questions I have:
#1. If I put H&R springs (installed OUTSIDE the dealership), and my suspension craps out, will they replace it under warranty?
#2. If I put F-sport Springs (installed OUTSIDE the dealer), and my suspension craps out, will they replace it under warranty?
#3. If you answered yes to #2, and no to #1, do you think I can disguise my H&R's to be f-sports incase they crap out to get it replaced under warranty? Considering they are both blue and look the same, i can slap an f-sport sticker on there? (This is really a joke question, but am open to debate on it if anyone thinks its possible)

That would cost me more than just buying a new pair of stock shocks. Labor is around $300. Then I would need to pay another $300 to put them back on the new shocks. Not to mention the additional headache I will be getting doing that.

Aftermarket No, Fsport yes. Had two shocks replaced under my warranty and my fsport springs were not installed at Lexus. At first they tried to deny the warranty claim but I pointed out it was a Lexus part. I think its a risk and will depend on the dealer since in reality your supposed to use the fsport shocks with the springs.

If your worried about your shocks going bad, why not just get coilovers instead and save yourself the headache of worrying about them. Personally 50k isn't bad, can you already tell they are going out?

I bought the car @ 35k miles too....
Well, that was what I was going to do, but I kinda like the smoothness of stock shocks, plus its cheaper, and my suspension would be on warranty. Getting coils would definitely void the suspension part of my warranty.
But still, I might change my mind and go with coils... (as I was initially planning to do)
