Default Is buying a 250 over 100K miles worth it?

I am planning on buying a 2006 IS250 manual trans. I have found a couple that I like, but one has 114K miles and the other has 145K. Does it make any difference between the two cars? Would there be anything that I have to watch out for with these cars over 100K?

I don't know much about manual is250s, but I've seen complaints about their clutch or flywheel...
Tough call!

I've seen several members on here take their 2nd gen IS's well over 100k with no.minimal issues however most of those have been auto's. If the price is right and have the resources to deal with any potential repairs I would say go for it. If you have time to continue to save/look for a great deal I would opt for that approach.

Bought an 06' with 135,000 KM....Almost 150,000 KM and not issues to report of whatsoever. Car runs fine...I noticed I lost a bit of fuel efficiency but I guess that's due to my driving habits? was getting 680KM per tank...now only 600KM tops

I bought mine with 100k miles 2 years ago. I'm at 124k now and only issue is my rear passenger side CV boots are leaking.

Look, if you're getting a car with that many miles have a rainy day fund just in case. I know these cars are built solid, but just be prepared in the event that the previous owner did not take proper care of the vehicle. A good indicator is the servicing of the vehicle.

I would just pay the few thousand extra and get one with lower miles. UNLESS all previous maintenance has been done with paperwork to prove all the work. Tough call though honestly..

analysis should be done by yourself by checking the maintenance on it and the records, and condition, but i think if its taken care of it should last for awhile

How much are the cars selling for too? If it's a really deep discount compared to a lower mileage one of the same year, I would consider it. The carbon build up is something you want to look out for, but the warranty was just extended to 9YR/Unlimited miles for that issue so you will still be covered for a little while on the issue even in a 2006. The only reason I wouldn't buy one of the two you are comparing is because the manual transmission in the IS250 is complained about by some owners...mostly for the way it drives but also for issues related to the reliability of it as well. I would buy one if the previous owner had all service records and the manual trans has been serviced regularly....otherwise i'd say avoid it and go for one with lower miles - and auto too maybe.

When I bought mine, it was regularly serviced at a Lexus dealership up until 90k miles. The 2nd owner put 10k miles on it and did not have it serviced at a Lexus dealership. So I bought it with 100k miles 2 years ago for $13k.

If you plan to keep it for a while pay a couple thousand more for one that will last longer.

I've got an 07 is250 manual, there's nothing wrong with the manual from my perspective. The throw from 1st to 2nd is kinda long but other than that it drives fine. Also where they have the cup holder kinda sucks, if you have a drink it gets in the way of shifting. I get 29 mpg, 70/30 highway/city. But honestly I wouldn't get a car over 100k miles even though it is a Lexus and there is the carbon build up problem for is250s.
