Guys it's a little baffleling to us because we dont have diesel engines, but please be aware that diesel cars are very EASILY chipped so I dont think OP is lying.
I'd still like to see the graph but I think OP isn't lying at all. Let's not all get bitter now just because we cant do it here.

Okay I was skeptical at first but he mentioned now that it's a diesel and if you do a search other people have gotten their diesel IS220d's chipped. Makes a lot more sense now haha.

His very smart friend might be a big help to other diesel owners but he will have nothing for the rest of us.

Let me guess, you are about to tell us where we can buy this chip? Right?
The fact that 1) you just joined and claim to have a chip that 2) dramatically increases hp AND fuel economy makes me LOL

I had a 1984 ford escort diesel 5 speed car no A/C and would avg 60-66 MPG @ 55 mph(claimed was 47-50) so diesels are way different then gasoline but wanna talk about slow........
0 to 60 in about 3 days

We are not being arrogant, non believers. We just simply want Pics because this is amazing if true(which i believe you).
Every other post on this thread is from people asking for a picture. How hard is it to click a MPG screen shot. And no, not while your driving 8MPH.

mostly diesel engines get some kind of "black box", which sends wrong numbers from the air intake measurement to the rest.. or some other sensors, i don't know exactly if it is done the same wya for different diesel engines. (for VWs they do something with the fuel pump)
sorry I don't know the right names of the technical parts. but i hope you get it
but still, gaining 20-40 horse power from those mods is realistic, 50% ? I don't think so.
this is such a "chip" :

the power gain (~ 40 bhp) is also approved by german TÜV

Sorry guys haven't logged in in a few days so only catching up with these messages now. Lots too reply to:
Firstly, I didn't join just to post this, I wanted to participate in a few other discussions that I'd been reading as a guest. But yes, this is the first thread I started. But I haven't joined here to promote anything, I simply wanted to share my experience, which I thought was the point of the forum.
When I posted, I wasn't aware that there were no a diesel IS's in USA.... I'm not an engine man, but I'm aware that "Chipping" is more common on Diesel engines. I can't be100% sure but I think the black box he hip is placed inline Along the fuel injectors so it fools the engine into sending more fuel to be burnt creating more power. The fuel saving comes from, if you drive the car at same speed as before chip, you use less fuel to create same power and performance. But I'm not an engine man, so that probably doesn't make sense.
To the person that queried 40mpg return from a IS220d as not being that great anyway. For a year before I got the chip, I was getting average of 28-30mpg as I drive mostly in city. Same journeys now giving me 40mpg. Yes it's based on the computer display, might be more or less, but is a 33% increase regardless of what the use figure is.
I took a pic of my average mpg and my tank average mpg I'm going to post this post then follow it up straighT away with the pic, I don't actually know how to post a pic on here lol
Ill look for the graph at home this evening, and ill pic the car, but it's just a standard IS220d.
Ill read back rough rest of comments in case I missed any points. But my post was genuine, I didn't expect any scepticism I just wanted to share my positive experience.
In UK, we pay extortionately for fuel, so mpg is a consideration for every UK driver. Diesels here are recognised as being more fuel efficient than petrol engines and majority of car sales in UK are diesel as a result. My positive experience was that I had to consider selling my car as it was too expensive for me to run before the chip, £90 per fill ( approx $144 per tank) now I'm getting 30% more miles out of every Gallon of fuel and have been able to keep my car, which I love, as a result. I paid $800 for the chip including installation and have had that turned infield savings already. I wasn't aware that you guys didn't have diesels, so was being genuine in sharing my experience.
Ill try and send those pics, anyone who Can help me how to do that, please post under here.
