I am thinking about put my stock wheels back on but i need to front new tires.(225/40/18) and when I look up the original tire (Bridgestone Turanza ER33) they run $246 a tire , so I am wondering if i can different tires for the front and what kind do you suggest to buy?

You should try yokohama yk580, theyre awesome tires and budget friendly. I had them on my g35 and no complaints at all.

If price is a concern get the hancook ventus, or the continental DW. Both solid tires. The michelin pilot super sports are the way to go if money is not a concern

Bridgestone Turanza ER33 is notorious for road noise!! Avoid those and sound worse when they begin to run out of tread.

I have those on my car but lettering them wear out before I get Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

Yeah never run stock tires....they are always on the expensive side with crappy performance and extremely low bang-for-buck

If you want to stick to all season try something like Continental DWS or Pirelli PZero Nero

If you want performance tires on a budget can try Hankook V12, Sumitomo HTR Z3, Yokohama S Drive, etc.

I have two Continental 235/40/18 laying around that I am dying to get rid of. I have no use for them anymore so if its something someone could use Id be happy to offload them.

At any rate. Continental Extreme Contact Sport or Goodyear Asymmetric v2 get my vote for street tires with great grip in the dry and rain!

Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport would be a good choice. Very highly rated, also one the quietest summer tires you can buy. At $147/each for the front they're priced pretty good as well.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport are really nice but also $220 a tire. I was hoping not to send $400-$500 on 2 tires. Thanks for letting me know tho

Default A great thread for me to stumble upon

im currently looking for discount decent tires myself, my front 2 are going bald. Here is my question:

how many sizes of tires actually fit my lexus is250 (2006). Might sound like a silly question, but when i went to tirerack.com to look up tires, i see 2 sizes:

225/45-17

and

225/40-18

which ones are for which???
