'06 IS250 AWD Y Pipe
I recently was told that my Y Pipe has multiple leaks in this portion of the exhaust system.
I was told by the dealership that the cost of the part to replace would be close to $1500, and with installation closer to $2000.
I went to another shop who initially told me that he has seen this many many times, and he could rework the portion of the Y Pipe...but when he put it up on the hoist, found 7 leaks...and therefore suggested that the whole Y Pipe be changed. His quote was also close to $2000.
I have checked Carson, and Top Speed (found on this forum)...and have had no luck at finding this exact replacement part. Does anyone else know where I can locate this part, and how much it will cost me?
Thanks...
MVN!

Are you guys talking about your exhaust? It would be much cheaper to just buy an aftermarket one and install that yourself lol
You could get an entire exhaust system like JoeZ for that kind of money lol

Err, guys... nobody makes an AWD midpipe... so that's not a very useful suggestion for the OP. (likewise there's no AWD of any full exhaust like the Joe Z)
It's possible an exhaust shop could custom make one, but it sounds like he took it to one and they quoted him 2k.
FWIW Sewell appears to get $1340 for it, club lexus price (create an account using your club lexus screen name then log in with that account to see CL pricing)

I think 1741031580 is the part you're looking for from your description

Kurtz is right, that is the part you need. I had the exact same problem on my RWD 250. Lexus quoted me the exact same price and I ended up taking to a different mechanic and all he did was remove the sections of the pipe with the holes and welded new pipe on.
I agree with some of the other guys here, depending on where the holes are it will be cheaper just to have them cut out the affected section of the pipe and weld on new pieces so long as its not right beside the O2 sensor.
I looked online for some aftermart Y-pipes and the price was not much better than what Sewell offered, especially with having it shipped up here to Canada.

I can not believe anybody is going for things like that to Lexus.I was thinking about buying a welder for 90 bucks at Harbor freight and doing it my self. 6 dol. high heat putty lasted me over a year.I have three leaks ,where heat shield starts and ends.

Lexus always seems to have troubles with their exhaust. I had a es300 and the cat and other parts of the exhaust went fairly early on, and the estimates were just about the same. Don't take your car to Lexus, they're overpriced and they quite frankly rip you off for crap that does not need to get done

My 07 AWD just got diagnosed with the same problem. Has 78,000 miles on it and a platinum warranty from lexus. Will let you all know if they cover this or try to stick it to me.

JRyan - you are lucky!
I had to beg and grovel with my Lexus dealership. They called head office and finally someone agreed to discount the part. I had it installed for $750 all in (including labor) at the dealership.
They referenced the fact that I have had all of my servicing done at Lexus authorized dealers as the main reason.
