Smile Just stopping by to say hi and thank you!

Hi everyone

I've been reading the boards since I purchased my first 2007 Lexus IS 250 in August 2006. In fact it was reading these boards in finding the love of the drivers of the IS 250 that made me want to give this car a try.

Since then I've had a 2009 IS 250, a 2011 IS 250 Fsport and now I just got my fourth car which is a 2012 IS 250 Fsport. I'm usually not one to ever trade cars like this and prior to getting this car I have never ever kept my car less than three years. I lease my cars and each and every time I have been able to trade my car I've gotten a better deal time and time again. In fact in early August I was at the dealer just having a minor service and I was just walking around the dealership just looking at the cars and the sales manager who got me into my last lease for my 2011 F sport saw me and he asked me how I like my car etc. and the next thing I know I took my car in for service and walked out with a brand-new 2012 IS 250 Fsport. Just to let you know I do all this with paying drive off fees that basically cover the cost of my registration and have reduced my monthly payment each time. My deal has been the same each time minimum drive off, 15,000 miles per year and two years free maintenance included. My 2012 is the StarFire pearl which I love its such a beautiful color. My other cars were tungsten Pearl twice and then I had the glacier frosty Mica once. I tinted my windows with 20% and I love the contrast between the 20% charcoal color and the pearl white of the car. If anyone lives in Los Angeles I get my windows tinted at Sunshield Tint in Sherman Oaks California. The owner has been in business at the same location for 28 years and basically does all of the dealers here in the Sherman Oaks area. The installation is very good and the quality of the film which I believe is 3M is very good and I've never had any issues with the quality of the tint or installation at all and I've been tinting my cars with this company since 1997.

Anyways my post here is just to tell you all that I really enjoy all the posts and the information that I've learned about the car here on the boards. The reason I keep getting this car is because I don't have any trouble with it and it's reliable, it's fun to drive, it's sporty and I just really love this car and I just wanted all to thank you all for everything because it's been very good learning experience reading about the IS on these boards.

I look forward to getting the new model when it is released. And I'm sure I will find out about it first by reading the club Lexus forum.

2007 IS 250 RWD Tungsten Pearl
2009 IS 250 RWD Glacier Frosty Mica
2011 IS 250 RWD FSport Tungsten Pearl
2012 IS 250 RWD FSport Starfire Pearl

Thanks! I have done really well with this car. I do think my favorite color is the Starfire pearl. I was hesitant to try the is 350 or the ISF cuz of the insurance costs. Next time I think I am gonna go for the 350. I feel crazy having 4 cars in 6 years, but like I said they have been great deals with very little down payment. So I figured between the costs of my DMV tags, maintenance for the last year of my 2011 lease and probably 2 new front tires, I would save more $$ by just getting the 2012. Seriously gave them $350 down, got an equity credit refund for $182 and paid $155 for tinting all 5 windows. To me this was a win win situation. And I keep my cars mint so they always buy my cars for resale. In fact my 2011 was sold last week and they had it lasted for $31,595.

Nice. Yeah, if you have a cap on the market I would move into the 350 game. I have one and it's literally night and day.

Insurance is hit or miss brother drives the 2011 IS350 fsport and he sent an 08 ISF vin to our insurance agent and she said it would lower his insurance a little bit....how? NO IDEA but thats what she said. Me I added an ISF as our 3rd car (other two are sc430 and Is-250) and my insurance went up 50 bucks. We have excellent coverage. I think it all depends on your record, credit (unless you pay up front), age and state. Just for giggles get a vin for an ISF and another for an IS350 and ask you agent to simply quote you the insurance cost. Now I will tell you that MPG for the IS250 and IS350 is very similar, however I am averaging 14mpg in the ISF....i do drive mostly city but with the IS350 or IS250...heck even the SC430 we do around 18-19MPG again mostly city. On the highway Im getting around 24-25mpg on the ISF. Congrats on the new ride and keep em coming!

You aren't the only one, lol. Why not try something different....like a GS or an IS350?
