Dented Oil Pan
I jacked up my car by the oil pan yesterday and left a small dent. The dent isn't super big but it does look dented. Luckily, I noticed I was being a total idiot after lifting it for just a couple seconds and moved it to the frame.
Anyone know if I can remove it and hammer it in or should I just replace it? I can't find it on Sewell. I'll contact some dealerships in Socal to see how much they are selling them for.

Yes you can remove it. I believe It is held on with 15 bolts and 2 nuts. You can try to hammer it back into shape, but theres no gaurantee that it will be perfect. Dented oil pans can lead to clogged oil pick up tubes and then oil starvation. From the looks of the image you posted, it doesnt look that bad. It really your decision what to do.

I wouldn't drive it until I either replaced the pan or managed to get the dent smoothed out. Seriously. There is typically very little clearance between the pick up and the bottom of the pan. This is definitely not work the risk of causing long term damage to your bearings by having an inadequate amount of oil to lubricate them.

ISay definitely replace that pan. The metal has been fatigued if nothing else. Vibration or road debris could be the end to it. Attempting to UN dent it could break it open. The seal at the gasket may have been compromised. Who knows.
Just replace it.
Just replace it.

Thanks!
I'll definitely have to get it replaced then. Unfortunately, I can't take any days off of work so I'll have to bring it in this Saturday to a shop nearby.
Thanks guys.
