Car has no idea when you actually changed the oil or what condition it's in.
You can also reset the interval if you want as well. It's listed in your owners manual how to do this.
Thanks, I did know you can reset the intervals. I just wasn't sure if it has sensors as well since i thought mine turned on a little early. I reset it before it got changed last time so that's probably why.
