Default A/C Recirculate mode not switching

Any of you guys had any trouble when you hit the recirculate button the light changes but the recirculate does not acutally happen? You know this because you can still smell outside smells and the a/c blowing doesnt get stonger. It also doesnt automatically switch to recirculate mode with I lower my a/c down to 65 like it used to. Any ideas what is going out or where to start trouble shooting?

Thx

If the recirculation damper arm is broken (common ocurrence on these cars) then what you say is happening. Easiest way to search is open your glove box, and in the back you will see a plastic door. If you pull up it will come off very easily and you can see the damper ( and cabin filter underneath). Hit the recirculation/ fresh air button and see what happens. You should see the damper moving up and down.

BTW, when recirculating you won't notice blower betting any stronger on the IS250...

I do notice it being stonger when recirculate is on. I did some testing and it comes back about about 3-4 engine starts. But if I turn the a/c off and then back on it quits working until 3-4 restarts. Very strange...

Is the vehicle under warranty? Maybe the dealership can have a look at it for you.
