Hi everyone, just switched over from Audi. Had an 06 A4 2.0T CVT. Got it as my first car and over the past seven years have put approximately $18,000 in repairs into it including new transmission. This past week took it in for 100K service, was also having some boost issues, which really concerned me. My fears came true, turbo was blown. Decided to unload it, got a great deal on a pre-owned 2011 is250 with 7000 miles on it. Really happy with my decision to switch.
This week I plan on getting my tint done. My dealership offered to have them do it free of charge. However because of FL law they can only do the maximum legal which i believe for FL is 35 fronts and 15% rears. On my a4 I had 15% all around and 50% on front windshield which I really liked and was never hassled by cops.
Wondering what you all think about having two different tints on the front and rear..or whether I should get 35% all around to keep it clean looking....or whether I should go to an alternate tinting shop and go as dark as I want.
Also plan to get rear sway (probably the F sport) and hardwiring my V1 this week. Am not new to modding, as I did a lot to my A4, and already have the mod bug for this car .
Would really appreciate any advice or thoughts about my new car and any simple mods you all would recommend starting out with. Have been searching the forums for an iPhone holder but haven't found anything that I really like, any advice. Thank you really appreciate it
Cheers,
Colin

Hi Colin, welcome to CL! Personally, I would go with matching tint all around - it just looks off to me when the percentage is different front/back.
Here's a thread on some simple mods to consider: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...der-200-a.html

welcome to the club. State law in Ohio is 50% in the front, I had 20% all around for a while til i got two tickets for it. Each was $140 so I ended up switching to 50% on the front but kept 20% in the rear. I was hesitant to do it and I do miss the darkness but I don't think it looks as bad as I had imagined. Now post some pics of your new ride!

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to CL! As for the Audi transmission repair/replacement, I have seen and heard of ridiculous prices (literally a huge percentage of the value of the vehicle). As far as the tint goes, go as dark as you think you can get away with! I was 35% (legal in NC) but recently had my windshield tinted 50% to make the overall look darker. Your fellow members are gonna be very helpful, but be sure you search for any issues before posting. There is a ton of info already available and posted in threads here.
