(In other words, I want the LEDs to function as my driving lights) Right now, in auto mode during the day, the yellowish driving lights are on and the LEDs are off. (In auto mode at night, everything is fine) What's the best way to fix this? I've seen in forums to have the dealer disable the yellowish driver lights and connect the LEDs to the ignition circuit, or fuel pump. Could someone give me a detailed, step-by-step way to do this?
Step 1 - Go to dealership to disable your DRL.
Step 2 - Follow OP's instructions.
Step 3 - ????
Step 4 - Profit!!!

I've actually been looking for these exact instructions for the longest time after finding out about the Sewell coupon. Ordering a set tonight! This should be stickied somewhere.

At night the LED strips are very bright at 100%. It looks better to some if it dims down to 50% brightness, which is also what the lights are supposed to do (that's what Lexus has them do on cars from the factory).

And i confirm for 50 brightness at night would be nice and look gorgeous than 100 brightness at night

with 5800k led (smd3528 )

Does this only work with the sewell lights? I just bought the 2012 headlights stripped on ebay with original wiring. I want the Led's to be on 100% as drl and 50% with the headlights on. Will i have to do any other wiring besides this to make them work?

I just completed this mod this weekend with one sewell striped light and one ebay stripped light. The only difference between the two is the pin order in the main wiring harness.

If you repin them like the sewells lights then you can follow the instructions in this thread. I repinned my non-sewells light and it worked exactly like sewells light. Here is the link to how you need to repin your harnesses:

Btw you can still do this mod without repinning, but you will just have to figure out which wire is the parking light so you can tap the 86 relay pin to it... The rest of the instructions would be the same.

Thanks Sean. That's exactly what i needed to know. I'll probably just repin both harnesses and then follow these instructions because i have no idea which wire is the parking light. Do you have yours wired for 100% or did you install the relay?

Where did you all mount the relay - I'm not sure if I want to cutout the bottom of the spare spot like in page 2 incase I damage it :x
