Seems strange that the water pumps are failing with such low mileage. When these engines had timing belts the pump was changed with the belt only because it made sense to do it while you were in there. Now these pumps are failing with what I would call low mileage. The pump must have been made cheaper.
How do you know if the water pump is leaking? I remember seeing some pink stuff on the cap of some tank under the hood, but I think the dealer cleaned it out ...
My water pump is actually failing right now. I'm at 62K and I noticed a clicking sound and since I work at an Acura dealer with Lexus dealer across the street, their tech confirmed it's my water pump. So bringing that in to get replaced soon.
