Gents,

Since this isn't getting much traffic in the regional section...........I need some help pleeeease.

I'm searching for an ISX50 savvy owner, who would be willing to thoroughly inspect and test drive a 2010 IS350 for me in Cleveland. I live outside of Washington D.C., so flying out to Ohio to inspect the car is out of the question, especially if something is present that is a deal breaker. Things I would want checked are:

- Body panel vin #s all match. PO stated that all panels are original.
- Paint condition: check for scratches, paint chips, dings, dents, etc. Pay close attention to the driver's side front door since it had been re-painted on the very top at the belt line in front of the door handle due to a dent repair when it was new. Ensure paint matches surrounding areas. Also condition of front lip from rubbing.
- Rust
- Interior condition: check for carpet stains, leather tears/scratches, dash and door scratches, wood trim scratches, rattles, etc.
- Wheel rash and tire tread wear
- Ensure AC blows cold and heater works properly
- Check for fluid leaks
- Test drive and report back condition of the engine, brakes, suspension components...any warranty related issues. PO stated the gas pedal shortening had been taken care of. Also, the AC condenser front brake rotors and pads had been replaced. Interior rattles also had been fixed under warranty.

Alright felluz, I'm willing to pony up $150 to inspect the car for me.

That should pay for your gas, a steak dinner, around 3 lap dances, AND a midget hooker!

Have you tried calling some Lexus dealers to see if they will do a pre-purchase inspection for you? I know here in Atlanta a dealership was willing to do one for me ($129) when I was interested in a Craigslist transaction.

I have for another IS350. The Lexus dealership stated that they only do mechanical inspections and not cosmetic...all for the cheap price of $250+. The issue is the man that's selling the car is also an employee of the local Lexus dealership where he's currently leasing the vehicle from. So I'm looking for an unbiased inspection, plus I'd rather support a local Lexus owner rather than blow money on a stealership.

Another route would be for a local mechanic shop to inspect the car. Does anyone know of any reputable shops familiar with IS350's?

Certain auctions do full car inspections. Try contacting your local manheim auto auction and ask them if they would be able to inspect a vehicle for you thats outside of the auction. They do some of the best inspections
