I wonder if there's something wrong with the tranny. It sounds like it's not putting itself in optimal gear. I just plastered a Mustang GT yesterday, no problems here.

To make it short, I've always doubted if my IS350 really has 306 horsepower. The other day, I "raced" a Toyota Matrix and lost. The car was in D and I just floored it at a light. I was tied with it but the Matrix began pulling after 70 MPH. Couldn't believe I lost to it. And I've raced my friend's 2.0 Genesis Coupe and we always tied.
Now I'm wondering if something is wrong with my engine. Everything is up to date with maintenance including spark plugs changed 10K miles ago. Been watching videos of 0-60 times on the IS350 and mine is no where near as fast as most.
Today, I went to try my 0-60 time and it took almost 7 seconds in D with ECT Power on and traction off. When most IS350's I see on YouTube take off, it changes to 2nd gear when redlining at about 40 MPH. Mine changes to 2nd at 30 MPH and it's redlining. The mods I have are a CF hood which reduced some weight, Takeda intake, and exhaust.
Any suggestions on what to do to increase engine performance?

Aren't you the guy who was also getting like 13 mpg?
I've been telling you there's something wrong with your car since you first logged on here.

This may be a pretty "first world" kinda problem, but I feel pretty bad for this guy, heh. Especially if the 13 mpg thing is true.
If you're using premium gas, and maybe the ECU reset doesn't work, and you don't have a couple porcelain bird baths in your trunk that you're not telling us about, then there's something wrong with your car. If it's still under the drivetrain warranty, you should get it checked out by the dealership ASAP (and if it's an 07 or later, it's likely still covered... even some 06s are still covered depending of course on mileage and when you bought it.)

thats what i'm thinking...
I was going to guess carbon deposits but your car is a 350...........
are you filling 91 from chevron or shell? if not switch to that. Then run some fuel system cleaner (techron makes the best)
if that doesn't work then take the car in and have it inspected.

OEM Denso spark plugs comes pre-gapped. All you need to do is install them. Unless you are using after market ones, but at 12$ each from Sewell i don't think anybody would go aftermarket route.
