Got the same Tire wear problem!!! Car was shaking when going over 80mph went to get it checked out and they pulled off both of my tires to show me that my passenger side rear tire on the inside was worn out to the belt. The shop guy told me the rear driver side was starting to do the same thing but with less wear. I went to Wal-Mart out of all places to get a rotation and the guy wanted to sell me just two rear tires!!! I have a 2007 IS250 AWD and I heard that I needed to get four brand new tires. i wanted to know everyone's theory on this because I always hear mixed feelings. I ended up getting Conti's run flats from a 330XI for 200 for all four from a guy I know that works in the dealership. 90% tread on them as BMW swaps out tires on cars that have less than 10,000 miles on them to sell as new.

I have excessive inner wear. Just replaced both fronts. The last alignment does last year was done on a hunter machine and set in the center of the specs.
