Edit: Nate, could you link to the flasher relay again? The other link leads me to a 404 error.
Sure here it is...

Thanks GiantsFan for the DIY. So you just grind the metal U off completely?

NO!

Grid off little by little (taking away the thickness) and test it each time till the hyper flashing stops. One you hit the correct thickness where the hyoer flash stops, grind a little more and stop.

That's it!

Do I just grind the top of the U only, and not the sides?

Edit: I'm so glad I bought a rotary tool all those years ago. It made so many projects that much easier lol

I grinded all the sides so no single area would become too thin.

GiantsFan, thanks for your help. Quick question... if i grind the U and decide to install regular bulbs back later on, does everything still work as normal?

No, I don't think it would work with regular bulbs...

If you want to read up more on this check out this link:

This simple modification will allow you to change the value of the flasher units resistor hoop to match the value of your V-LEDS ... All that needs to be done is to remove some material thickness from the hoop. This will change the value of the hoop, and by doing so changes the value to match that of your V-LEDS.

Reading the v-leds post, it compares the wattage draw for the bulbs and compares it to the flasher unit. If the bulb wattage is lower than the flasher unit, it will hyperflash. But this is not to say that if the bulb wattage was higher than the flasher unit, it wouldn't flash normally.

This may be something to try out. If I get the chance, I'll try it this weekend if I still have my stock bulbs.

For everyone attempting this, be patient and take your time. It took me about 10 attempts before I got it right. If you take off too much, you'll have to order a new flasher relay and start again. GL!
