Default Headrest

Hey guys,

I want to know if any of you actually rest your head on the IS's headrest. From testing, I have to sit very straight up and my butt scooted all the way back of the seat in order to comfortably use the headrest. Unfortunately, that kind of seating position isn't too comfortable.

Is there a good seat setting you use that allows you to comfortably use the headrest at all times?

I am currently seeing an acupressure-ist and chiro to relief/correct neck pain and want to find out what I can do to help while driving.

My natural (and normal) driving posture is a slight slouch, because driving shouldn't have to be like having to stand like that of the military.

Nope, I for one rarely use my head rest. The only time I can think of when I would use the head rest, was when I'm driving long distances, say longer than 2 hrs+.

+1. I only use the headrest when I'm tired. I lean all the way back, but I agree it is an awkward position.

OP have you considered getting neckpads? There are a couple different options we have. A while back I was looking for a set but got demotivated. Now I may try to look again now that you've reminded me lol.

Neck pillows are a great idea!

I always thought those things looked kinda ricey. LOL

I don't really like how they look either. That's actually the reason why I didn't look for them too long haha. The two I am familiar with are Junction Produce neck pads and Bellezza neck pads. The Junction Produce pads have lettering on them that I don't really like. Looks tacky IMO. The Bellezza ones are plain, which I prefer.

If you do decide on going with the neck pads, I heard that the JP pads come with a stiff/uncomfortable material in it. Many people remove the material and swap it out for something more pillow like. I haven't personally seen much feedback on the Bellezza pads, probably because the JP pads are more popular on this forum.

The Head Rest is a misnomer, it mainly used to stop your head from bobbing back too far during a collision, but really to rest your head.

I've been told I've got great posture, and perhaps that's why I use my headrest a good amount. I sit with the sit bottomed out down low, seat back a good for my 5' 8" height, tilted back some, and the steering wheel fully telescoped and tiled down low.

I got the JP neck pillows for the look and when I put my head back they were actually really comfortable. They're worth it.
