Yes, I like the fun factor too but really didn't need it for my purposes since I use soft/baby throttling anyways. As I mentioned, I would consider the 350 in the future for leisure. I occasionally get the joke from my co-worker who owns an M3, telling me to get that F, (IS-F)!! lol, as he knows I'm fully capable of purchasing one.

On the family side if I were to get the 350, they would ask me, why do I need 300+ HP? One of them especially said, a car is mainly for point A to point B, all you need is a Corolla; this was at the time looking for a replacement for the Solara Camry which was on its last legs and was considering the 250 as a comparable car for the HP in Toyota/Lexus line when I was asking them for advise. I was like no, I'm not going back to a Corolla when my mom gave me her 95 Corolla back then before I got the Solara from my dad when he switched to Lexus.
Sango you just got a bit of respect in my book, if I had a family (Wife and kids) I would most certainly review my vehicle choices more closely. ISF money can go a long way for the family if you choose to downgrade a bit to the 250. That's why I want the ISF now...before I cross that road.

Yep I agree. I have better important and wise things to allocate money on (ie. the girl, the investments, the house mortgage payments etc...) before the car.

If course, people would not like to say it but cars is not an investment. The IS-F is not on my radar but the 350 would be in the later future; just my co-worker jokes about me to get the IS-F (since mine is USB IS250) ha ha ha.

Which kills the gas mileage advantage over the 350, slows the car down compared to the auto, and has significantly more mechanical issues too!

2007 IS350 - Full JUN Exhaust and F-Sport Intake. This was my previous tank at 541 Miles, the tank before was a little Less but still pretty impressive. I love the IS.

Yeah so many mechanical issues, i don't know what to do with myself. Sike. 108k miles on just oil and brakes.

But I'm not here to argue with you. Have fun with your paddle shifters.

Do a search and you'll find at least half a dozen folks who've had to get their entire transmission replaced.... (and quite a few more with the jar of marbles noise, wonky clutch/flywheel issues, and various other issues that haven't caused a entire replacement yet)

You'll find one guy I think with an auto who had to have it replaced.

Even scarier- 97% of 2ISes made are autos.

That's a terrifyingly high failure rate for the manual in comparison. No real argument to be had.

Congrats on being one of the lucky ones

I don't, personally, find doing more work for inferior results to be fun... but apparently a good 3-5% of the population continues to so different strokes and all

All i can say is after trade in my IS250 for the IS350... i will never go back to the 250 again. I do get a little less gas mileage then my 250.. however, that' is only $3 different per tank. I fill up every week so an extra $12 a month, maybe $15 at max. That is nothing compare to all the potential problem that i might be facing if i have the 250 ... especially the carbon build up issue. On my old IS250 i can feel sometime the engine would almost stall out at the stop sign or red light. My 350 however never did once. That alone in my book worth the extra buck!

I would say price of the vehicle. When i was looking to lease, the 350 awd would run me over $115 more a month and had a waiting list for a few months.. when you dont have a car and are on a budget you have no other option. maybe i could of sold a kidney and i would drive a 350 instead for a few years while i recover
