Default IS350 Engine mounts and broken exhaust

Took my car in for a bad rattle Mechanic says the engine mounts are bad and the rattle was a broken weld on the exhaust(LMS), there's also a busted donut on the exhaust as well. He says its all caused by broken engine mounts.. Car only has 54k miles. Cost to replace the engine mounts is $700($300 for the engine mounts @ $150 a piece and $400 for 4.5 hours work).

Are the engine mounts covered by the drivetrain warranty? If not is the amount reasonable?

Engine mounts are covered by powertrain warranty, head back to dealer and get it fixed free.

(well, they probably won't fix your exhaust free since it's aftermarket, but the engine mounts they will)

Called Santa Monica Lexus said they aren't covered. Also called Tustin Lexus, they said they probably aren't and they are going to call me back. Just called Lexus customer service line and they say its covered, even says its covered on the website.

First time lexus owner coming from 10 years of Infinti ownership, i sure hope this is a fluke.

First lesson: People at most dealerships are idiots who know nothing about their own products.

(this is the folks you'd ever talk to- service advisors, salespeople, etc... much less so the folks who actually do the repairs).

When I went to order my car I had to explain to the dealership how Lexus actually options the car and what is part of what package.

When I went to pick my car up and the sales guy tried to show/explain the car features to me and he was wrong on half of em, and I had to explain how to him how to do several things he was trying to explain the car did but wasn't sure how.

Several TSIBs I've had done I've had to bring a copy of the Lexus TSIB with me because the service advisor was unaware it existed.

When I'm unsure of something about my car/warranty/etc, they're not who I call.

But they have nice waiting rooms for when you're having work done... and snacks!
