wow that sounds like a great idea.. im going to ask my gf if she wants to come back up to norcal with me after grad and then drive back down the scenic route and explore the coast

The motor needs to maintain a load, whether under accel or decel. Traveling at a constant HWY speed is not good on a new motor. But after 30 miles I'd say if broken in properly, you should be good. Pick up the car from the dealership, drive around the city doing WOT pulls to the speed limit and decel under vacuum. I didn't see in the thread if you had said this was an auto or manual; it would be much easier if it was a manual though.

Enjoy your stay!
most definitely. its automatic but its got paddle shifters lol..so maybe i can vary the speeds with that

well first you want to make sure you break in the rotors correctly, so dont do any hard stopping the first 200 miles. then just drive it normal varying speeds as you go along. also check the oil half way thru just to make sure its at the correct level. shoot i did a burn out for a block when i got my car new, and drove it for 10 yrs 180,000 miles with no problems lol.

Yeah, you'll be able to use the paddles to decel in gear to slow for lights and such. That'll help with maintaining the part of breaking in that motor. Don't baby it off the line either; drive it like you will with 10k miles on it.

i was watching a is250 2012 review on youtube and the person said theres folding rear seats, but from what i read on this forum, there isnt any. is there rear folding seats in the 2012 model?

edit: im going to assume that the person meant that it has a small foldable middle part for skis.

I assume you mean ML? Lexus.com says otherwise

More likely your local dealer just doesn't have any to sell you so told you they don't make it anymore so you'd buy something he did have rather than go elsewhere or special order.
