Default Plastidip Troubles

Alright, I don't know what went wrong during my application process but my emblems are now effed up. The plastdip didn't peel off as advertised and now I have a bunch of plastidip stuck where my emblems join my car, and I can't get it off!!!!

Anyone know of a good cleaning product to use on plastidip?

How bad is it? Any pics would help explain what happened.

How many coats did you apply?

I did mine and had no problems whatsoever and everything peeled right off as advertised. Have you tried using some warm water and soap?

Just use a toothpick to remove any remaining plasti-dip around your emblems. It should peel off easily like a dried elmer's glue.

Make sure when you do it again that you apply a thin first/base coat and follow it up with 3-4 more evenly sprayed coats. Let it dry for at least half an hour to an hour depending on the weather in between coats.

That's def strange...no one ever had that problem. Did u let each coat dry before applying more...
You can use rubbing alcohol to get it off...it works

Just borrowed my friend's... This stuff is worth it's weight in gold! Once I sprayed it on, all the plastidip came off with ease. I think I should leave the coat on longer this time... Last time, I waited 15 min intervals between sprays but I think I'll try 45 this time. Wish me luck!

I don't get it either. It's your car, do what you please. To each his own.

But I've seen plasti dip used on BMW and Infiniti forums and everything has turned out great.

Thank you x100!!! If not for your advice, I'd still be there with my toothpick trying to scratch off all the left over plasti dip haha.

I just finished plastidip attempt #2, worked perfectly this time! I definetely didn't spray enough coats or wait long between each coat the first time, because the 2nd time around the stuff peeled off just as advertised.

Plasti dip looks cheap, doesn't clean up well and is just ugly. Has no business being used on a Lexus.

If you want black emblems, go to Sewell and get the back Pearl.

Thanks for that link, it really cleared everything up!

It's my opinion and I still don't like it. To each his own.
