So I just got back from the dealership. I only reported the vibration issue and the dash rattle.

1. Since they can't reproduce cold climate, they would only go as far as doing the top engine clean, which was covered under powertrain warranty. I didn't notice any difference in the car when I got it back - vibration issue still present. I'll have to see if it helps with the much stronger vibrations I get in the winter time.

2. Since I'm no longer under comprehensive warranty, they suggested to insulate styrofoam between the dash and windshield to fix the rattle noises. They only charged me $40 for parts for this job. Seemed to help with the rattles so I'm happy.

3. They had my car for 2 days so I was driving around in a courtesy car - a 2011 ES 350. I noticed that this car had a throttle delay as well (in comparison to my dad's 2009 Sienna). So I know it's normal for Lexus cars, maybe to make the ride smoother. It was FAST though!

Overall, the experience was good, the service advisor was nice and explained everything well. The 64,000 KM service (oil, tire rotation, differential fluid) + foam insulation came up to about $430 before taxes.

$430 comes out to what in US dollars? Hopefuly less, because that sounds like a huge amount of money for some basic services. As someone else mentioned, find a decent local mechanic who can do the same work for a fraction of the price.

Also, use the search function in this site. You'll gain a lot more imformation as to what you were looking for. Lots about the rough idle and the history of it.

Here in the US, rattles are not covered for CPO cars, so it looks like your dealer was being kind.

The rate is almost 1:1. Looking at close to $425ish USD.
