hi, just wanna ask some questions. I got myself a pair of new drl to fit on my 2010 IS250. i noticed some most members here do change the flasher relay. i was thinking was is the use of this flasher? what will happen if i do not change it? because it is extremely rare for me to get one of these in malaysia.

How many front turn indicators does your car have?
I believe in the US it was originally 2 in each headlight but in Australia it's 1 on each side so we Australians don't need the flasher as there's only 1 turn indicator in the 2012 headlights too.

Need urgent help here. I tried to install my 2010 IS250 with 2011 drl headlamp with led, but i only got 50% of the brightness. Anyone can help what can i do to the the 100%? The circuit board doesnt seems to support this. Any rewiring can change this? by the way mine is not from sewell. mine is from OEM Japan.

Japanese headlights are different to every other country's headlight (including other RHD markets) in that they only have 2 pins on the LED circuit.
The 100% LED pin is left unsoldered (one on far right) - I don't think they have an option for 100% brightness in Japan.

thanks for ur write up bro. Really no way to do any re-wiring to get the 100% brightness? such a put off thinking that i only have 50%. should have bought from sewell instead.

Other than the components being brand new, what would be the advantages of purchasing a stripped setup from Sewell versus getting some 2012 headlights from a salvage yard?
The Sewell kit is listed as coming with:
2 Headlamp Assemblies - salvage yard would work fine
2 Hi-Beam lamp covers - what are these?
2 LED Wire Harness - salvage yard?
Flasher Relay - I understand what this is and why I need it.
I have a 2008 IS350 with HID and would like to convert to the newer 2012 style headlights with HID. I will be performing the installation.
I have read this thread and done some searching. However, I want to make sure I understand my options before I make a decision.
BTW, props to the OP for an amazingly detailed and thorough write-up.

Hi-beam cover just covers the spot on your high beam bulb - if you're buying straight off a wreckers it will already have it. Although most on ebay are stripped sets.
Sewells are already plug and play so that the LED's replace the parker lights - if you buy it from the wreckers you have to repin about 4 or 5 wires, super easy to do.
I'd just buy it from the wreckers if you can find it for a good price.

What I would tell you is if your car is equipped with AFS turn it off before you install your lights. On my ISF it was equipped with AFS and I had to turn it off before I installed the new lights. I'm pretty savy with electrical but I have not messed with the LED. My stay at 100% when I turn on the lights and second I left my original LED DRL versus having the leds the head lamps came with. You will need a relay/flasher because I assume your turn signal for the front came with two bulbs and once you install the new ones it will go to one bulb as your turn signal.
