So I have a pair of 2012 LEDs and I was told that I needed to either have the dealership disable my DRL before installing so the LEDs can be rewired or I can have the LEDs installed first then have the dealership flash (reprogram?) it? Any opinions?

That's what I am going to find out by Tuesday, on my ISF it came with the AFS and I ended up turning off the afs before installing my new lights. Apparently Lexus can program your LEDs as your DRL,so there is no need to re-wire and void the warranty on those lights.

If you tap into an ignition power source you wont have a need to have your parking lights on. I just installed a set on my sisters IS250 and I have hers working like factory.
Once Igniton is one LED's come on
Low beams ON LED's switch to 50% power.
Also her Auto Leveling work but I had to turn black out her blinking AFS light

here you go
to wire it up to work sort of like the factory setup is to get an SPDT relay (5 terminals: 30, 85, 86, 87, 87a).
Terminal 30 goes to your ignition power source, 85 goes to the low beam +12V wire, 86 goes to ground, 87 goes to the 50% power on the LED strip, and 87a goes to the 100% power on the LED strip.
This will have the LED's at 100% when the car is on with the headlight switch in position 0,1 or Auto they will drop to 50% if the headlights are turned on (low or high).

I am about to purchase the 2012 lights from either Sewell or ebay and one thing I noticed is still not answered anywhere properly. Can the LEDs be wired to work as DRL?
I am seeing responses from people saying they got them to work and others that have done the mod repeatedly saying NO. Those that hold that they are running them as DRL have yet to say how for some reason. I am sorry if I missed it but doubt I did.
Can someone please help me out with the final answer and HOW it is done? If it cannot work like DRL, it is a hard sell for me because I am so used to just turning on the car and going these days without reminding myself everyday to turn a switch.
HELP!!!
My bad, I am new to the site. Have been reading for years and love it.

I did this mod yesterday and it went well.
Love the 100% during the day and 50% at night.

Did you have to remove your bumper to do all this ? I been kinda paranoid about doing it. I just left my lights as is, went to Sewell Lexus and they stated that they do not recommend the re-wiring on it ( obviously they wouldn't ) cause it void the warranty on them.
