Default Performance of IS250 AWD auto tranny

Hello everyone. I am a new owner of a used 2007 IS250 AWD.

How do you rate the performance of the 6-spd autobox of these 2 gen IS?

What are the goods and bads from your driving experience and years of ownership?

Thanks all for your feedbacks.

Its really hard to rate the auto tranny on the IS250 AWD. I have one and my only cons really is the drivetrain slag from the transfer case to the front differential. There is also the hump on the inside driver side where most cars put it on the passenger side. Other than that, I haven't heard many tranny issues with the AWD compared to the RWD but im sure others can chime in more.

The awd gets about 1-2 mpg less than the rwd but i still get around 27mpg highway on a regular. People complain more about the engine than the transmission

I have my awd for 3 years now, and the transmission is fine, I haven't had any issues with it.

I have to say after 10 weeks or so owning this vehicle, here's my experience;

The shift quality is not as smooth as my other Toyotas I used to own, espeically between 1-2, and 2-3 shifts. It's definitely not harsh to the point that affects my driving but I can surely tell. It is sometimes annoying that when the car slows to a crawl before a complete stop, the tranny seems to jolt a little when downshfitng from 2 to 1.

I am trying to find out if this is a normal behaviour of this car in specific or is it a sign of a future issue...

I guess for a car with a V6 engine, the fuel economy is not bad. For every 50 litres of gas, I am averaging about 530km/tank or 9.6L/100km or mostly city driving.

When I first got the vehicle, the car felt pretty weak on power. So I took out the upper intake manifold and curious about discovering if I got the famous "carbon deposit issue". Not as bad as I first expected, but I tried using different solvent /cleaner, to clean out as much carbon as possible. With all that done and a new set of Denso plugs, the power is there and acceleration has much improved.
