i noticed that I have black lines in the center of my rear view mirror all the way across from the left to right and some even look like boxes. anyone else have this problem? what could it be?

i think i will bring it up the next time i go in and just see what they say. i just got the car back after 2 weeks at the dealership for pistons and rings so i am in no hurry.

Known issue. It's the autodimming feature and it's been cooked in the florida sun.
Judging by your car being an 07... I see why now. Mine is an 06 and I had the same issue.

Just do what I do and drive around with no rearview mirror and use your nav screen as the rearview mirror

I have the lines too, but i'm not for removing the rearview mirror.. i just live with it.

maybe purchase a new mirror down the road, who knows..

don't have the navi but extended warranty from lexus should cover this i would think. is it also not working anymore then?

If you have a warranty, it might cover it. CPO warranty is covering it for me.

I hear the new mirror alone is like $900
