I'm gonna do this eventually. I want liquid graphite color wheels and fake black pearl emblems. I'll post up pics when I do it. Waiting for temps to pick up.

Anyone had any experience with the Plasti Dip enhancers yet?

Wondering whether to do the glossifier or clear coat.

Default Plastidip with the glossifier

Hey CL,

I went ahead and tried the plastidip and glossifier on my DD, a Suzuki SX4 Crossover ...lol

here's the pics:

(I sprayed a little too far thus a very textured look. I'll probably redo it later. I'll see how it holds up on the highway.)

It looks more graphite than black. Am I right? I would imagine that over a narrower surface it wouldn't show as textured as yours did. I plan on doing plasti-dip and glossifier over my chrome doorsills.

It's the lighting, in person it's black.

thanks for trying it out and being the guinea pig, looks pretty good but idk if its glossy enough to make a difference from regular plasti-dip. post pics when you redo-it.

The gloss is there if you shine a light on it (I applied like 4 coats of glossifier). ...and the whole time while I was spraying the glossifier I was thinking, 'yes, black pearl emblems for Zuki!" hahaha.

When I redo-it, I'll post pics... hopefully the finish will come out smoother and be more mirror like. idk, wishful thinking again? lol

I don't think your 2nd attempt will change the outcome of smoothness. Plastidip has a natural texture to it, even if you add a glossifier finish on top of it, it is still bonding to the plastidip texture under it and conforming to its shape.

Ive used regular gloss clearcoat over plastidip on my old FX. It worked great on the emblems, side times, and wheels for the year I had it.

Also sprayed wheels on my porsche with plastidip, then painted over that, then cleared over that. Also worked great as a totally removeable solution

oh okay cool, I thought i was doing something wrong. i was looking through pics here and online and the ones i've seen look pretty smooth... must be the narrow surface area like you mentioned. Yea this is my first time using plasti dip. thanks for the info!

Here's a picture of the silver metalizer with plenty of coats. It can range from dark dark dark grey with barely any flakes to bling bling sparkle(which is what the picture shows). It ends up being a faux glossy look(it's still pretty matte, didn't match well with the car but emblems might be minimal enough) and is nowhere near true black chrome, that's why I ended up scrapping that idea and going real black chrome. I've fiddled with the glossifier and it does work pretty well but it won't have a wet glossy look but definitely glossier than regular plastidip. Any questions just ask!
