any updates?

mine started the same kind of noise yesterday, and i'm almost certain it's the tensioner (when using a long screwdriver as a stethoscope). i'd hate to order a $300 tensioner and not be the problem though...

Been awhile but figured I'd add an update...

I ordered a new tensionor assembly from Sewell but realized when I got mine almost out that it wasn't the problem. The pulley just wasn't feeling like it was an issue and upon further inspection with everything apart, I found the small coolant leak under the water pump. Returned the unused tensioner (Sewell is the best!) and got a water pump. Swapped it out and the fired the car up...nice and quiet again!

I should note that I went ahead and replaced the idler pulley while I was in there and also ordered an extra one in case I ever have issues with the tensioner pulley, as the pulley is removable and is essentially the same as the idler pulley for all intents and purposes (not exact same part but dimensions are the same, so I'm not afraid to swap the pulley instead of the whole tensioner).
