Default Chrome door handles - anyone vinyled them?

Instead of paying $277 for the lx-mod door handles has anyone just vinyled the handles in chrome? So much cheaper and you can decide whether or not to wrap the entire door handle or just half, etc...
Seems like a no brainer to me after my husband was telling me that the lx-mod door handles protrude slightly out due to the tape under them.
I figured with vinyl it will look darn near flush. Opinions?

**UPDATE**

UPDATE

I sent my handles off to krometics. (Thanks to my husband CCJ22's idea since he knows these people)

I'll come back in and update this thread with the results once we get the handles back.

Less expensive then the LX-mode stick on plastic handles too... Question is, how well will this "paint" hold?
CCJ22 states it's not actually paint it's a similar to process to what they use to make mirrors.

I'll be copying wee sped's exterior look except w/o kazz grill and without bodykit as well as different wheels.

My opinion:
... Chrome handles? On a blacked out car?

I suppose I'm biased since I blacked out all of my chrome on my MRM.

... But if you were dead set on the chrome handles... I would just buy the LX mode ones...

^lol.

I really like the chrome handles on a black car. I want the LX mode covers but its so expensive. Vinyl wrapping isnt a bad idea but i feel like it may be a bit difficult to wrap since your most likely not gonna remove the handle prior to wrapping.

Don't forget, doing the back side of the handles might interfere with the door operation, since touching the backside is what unlocks the doors. You need to factor that in.

+1. I think the vinyl would get scratched easily as well, since door handles are heavily abused by passengers.

while the lx-mode handles do stick out very slightly, it's nowhere near as bad as the cheap ones you see on many trucks/dodge chargers/etc.

see this thread for more pics/info: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...le-covers.html

while expensive, when you consider how much people pay for other cosmetic mods, this to me is actually good value in the visual change vs price ratio.

Ive never really been a fan of chrome door handles but it greatly depends on your cars modifications.

Jeff called me yesterday about them that you like them on my car. PLEASE don't put sticker crap on a nice car. Chrome vinyl will look ugly anyways....it'll be cheap looking!!! Like wearing Payless Shoes high heels!

Hmm, I think it might be straight. Look up Rvinyl for some cheap chrome vinyl. I bought some brushed aluminum vinyl to do my grey interior trim pieces. I think it was like $15 shipped with coupon. You'll just need the smallest size. For that price, why not go with it? If you don't like it, just rip it off. Post pics if you do.

But FYI, metallic vinyl doesn't fold to curves easily as carbon fiber or others. Its gonna have creases and wrinkles cuz it isn't as flexible.

Nahh don't do it, it will be a pain to make it stick right to the curvature of the handles without it looking odd and it will probably just slowly start coming off in no time lol

hahahaha... love that GIF Katie!

+1 on the LX mode ones... a couple people I know have em (Like Mariano)... and they look good when done right

If the car is fully blacked out... I don't think it would look good...
