unfortunately I don't think the cold weather has a part in this. My car was in the cold weather all night and didn't change anything. Then when it warmed up it stayed the same. Wonder how many Lexus owners have this problem.

I've come to the realization that I'll need to employ the services of PDR specialist. I'll ask Lexus whom they recommend. I HOPE that the tech is able to access the dent through the sunroof area...otherwise I'll have to pull down the headliner and probably a bunch of other stuff.

Make that 5. I have the exact same problem. I bought my car used and it didn't have that when I bought it. Then, one day last year, while drying my car after washing, I notice it. Scratching my head wondering what could have caused it. Same side, same shape. Odd. My car is basically stock, no suspension mods save the F-sport rear sway bar so I doubt it has anything to do with being lowered or modified. My car is also garaged but I'm not sure how that would affect things.

I wonder if it's just an '06 model year problem. What year is everyone elses car that's having this issue?

This is actually a common thing happening on cars with sun roof (especially Evo's). Not just our lexus family. If you do a quick google search, bunch will pop up regarding this same issue. It has to do with "chassis flex". Possibly due to hitting a major pot hole or something that caused the frame to flex. You could possibly bring this issue up to the dealer but doubt it'll do much. Keep in mind, even if you get a body shop to fix it, the frame is weakened and it'll most likely happen again.

Here are couple links to the issue when i did a quick search on google.

Man, I would expected better quality sheet metal and structural integrity from Lexus. I've driven lowered cars since '04 and I've never had this sort of issue before. Previous cars were all imports, but no Toys.

Once going up a driveway on and angle I heard a loud pop above my head. Never got any dents though, but the noise was startling. (2008)

The problem there is that there is probably a standard grade used across the board for car manufacturing (aside from the exotics and other high end cars) car sheet metal. The torquing of the car that's the likely cause is a very unaccountable incident, coming from situations that aren't every day driving for most people. To strengthen it, you'd have to make it thicker, and that adds weight, and to have a different grade of steel would be very expensive and they probably don't run and strength analysis on the roof... So it is what it is, holes add high stress concentration areas, and I hope I can avoid this. I've heard those roof creaks before... Now I'll be nervous!

I wonder if the f sport center brace would help by stopping the frame from flexing.
