For US cars, they can be disabled via Techstream.

For Canada cars, it cannot be disabled in Techstream because the ECU is different. Either you have to do some re-wiring or get the US ECU for it and swap it out with the stock unit, then you can disable with Techstream just lke the US cars.

Why do they need to disable the DRLS in order to install the led headlights?

That's how I disabled mine. You have to have a computer with windows XP for the software to work. I have an extra one I will sell you for $20 Paypal and shipped USPS priority three day service. PM me

If you buy the ebay techstream unit, you'll need to run it on 32bit winxp. Drivers should be included. Incase you don't have a computer w/ winxp just use oracle vitural box to emulate. There's also this: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7435 Don't know if anyone has tried it on the 2is

Here is a video to help. As far as I know it only works with Windows XP. Like liqB said you can use oracle virtual box to emulate winxp.
